【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofsurfacedeflectionsasaresultoftheapplicationofanimpulseload.Theresultingdeflectionsaremeasuredatthecenteroftheappliedloadandmayalsobemeasuredatvariousdistancesawayfromtheload.Deflectionsmaybeeithercorrelateddirectlytopavementperformanceorusedtodeterminein-situmaterialcharacteristicsofthepavementlayers.Someusesofdataincludequalitycontrolandqualityassuranceofcompactedlayers,structuralevaluationofloadcarryingcapacity,anddeterminationofthicknessrequirementsforhighwayandairfieldpavements(seeGuideD4695).Note18212;Sincepavementandsubgradematerialsmaybestressdependent,caremustbetakenwhenanalyzingLWDtestdataonunboundmaterialssothattheappliedstresswillcloselymatchthestressvalueappliedbythedesignwheelloadatthepavementsurface.Note28212;Thevolumeofthepavementandsubgradematerialsaffectedbytheloadisafunctionofthemagnitudeoftheload.Therefore,caremustbetakenwhenanalyzingtheresults,sincethedataobtainedbytheLWDmaybeobtainedfromasmallervolumeoftheunboundmaterialsthanundertheinfluenceofaheavymovingwheelloadatthepavementsurface.1.1ThistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofdeflectionsofpavedandunpavedsurfaceswithaLightWeightDeflectometer(LWD).ThisdeviceisalsoreferredtoasaPortableFalling-WeightDeflectometer(PFWD).TheLWDislightweight,portableandgenerallyusedfortestingunboundpavementlayers.ThedeflectionsmeasuredusinganLWDcanbeusedtodeterminethestiffnessofboundandunboundpavementsurfacesusingappropriateback-orforwardcalculationanalysistechniques.1.2si-value;1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
