【摘要】:Themajorobjectiveofthevisualplatinum-cobalt(Pt-Co)methodofcolormeasurement,asdefinedinTestMethodD1209,istoratespecificmaterialsforyellowness.Thisyellownessisfrequentlytheresultoftheundesirabletendencyofliquidhydrocarbonstoabsorbbluelightduetocontaminationinprocessing,storageorshipping.Clearliquidscanberatedforlightabsorbingyellowishorbrownishcontaminants,usingscalesthatsimulatethelong-establishedvisual-comparisonmethodjustcited.Whereneeded,dimensionsofcolorcanbereportedtoidentifyanypinknessorgreenness(onedimension),orgrayness.1.1ThistestmethodcoversaninstrumentalmethodfortheCIE(CommissionInternationaldel'Eclairage)tristimulusmeasurementofthecolorofnear-clearliquidsamples.Themeasurementisconvertedtocolorratingsintheplatinum-cobaltsystem.1.2Thistestmethodhasbeenfoundapplicabletothecolormeasurementofclear,liquidsamples,freeofhaze,withnominalplatinumcobaltcolorvaluesinthe0to100range.Itisapplicabletononfluorescentliquidswithlightabsorptioncharacteristicssimilartothoseoftheplatinumcobaltcolorstandardsolutions.TestMethodsD1686,D2108,andE450dealwiththevisualandinstrumentalmeasurementofnear-clearliquids.1.3Indeterminingtheconformanceofthetestresultsusingthismethodtoapplicablespecifications,resultsshallberoundedinaccordancewiththeroundingoffmethodsofPracticeE29.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection.
